A Great Place to Meet

For craft beer enthusiasts, fantasy football fans and folks who like a good party, Tuscan Sun Wine & Spirits is more than just a local liquor store, it’s the place to gather with friends for fun and good times.
Owned by Shashin Vyas and Mukesh Patel since 2009, the store first opened its doors in 2005. Tuscan Sun offers a wide variety of craft beers, wine, bourbon, whiskey and scotch. The store offers catering for parties and events and even features draft beer on tap for patrons who want to sample the latest beer selections. “We pour draft beer right here in the store,” Shashin said.
Tuscan Sun draws customers from Rockford, DeKalb, Sycamore, Elgin, Huntley and Pingree Grove to the Village.
“This is the meeting place for our fantasy football league and a lot of people get to know each other that wouldn’t get to otherwise,” he said.
Shashin said he likes the quiet nature of Hampshire, but it is the people here who make this store unique.
“The most important thing I like about Hampshire is the people. They are laid back, easy going and they like to party!”
The store offers kegs of beer for large events or parties and will help customers find just the right pairing for any special occasion, event or dinner. If you can’t find what you are looking for in the store, Shashin recommends just asking at the counter and the staff will be happy to assist customers in finding products.
Shashin said he believes in creating a good relationship between business supporting the local community and encourages customers to shop local first.
“People should explore all the local businesses. Try to keep your business in town as much as you can. Whether it’s gas, ice cream or a place to work out. It is good for the town and for the community,” he said.
Tuscan Sun is a proud supporter of the non-profit organizations in the Hampshire area. They provide donations to help support coon Creek Country Days, the Lion’s Club, Hampshire football and cheer groups and the snowmobile club, just to name a few.
Tuscan Sun also works with the Chamber of Commerce and participates in the farmer’s market. Visitors can stop by the liquor store during the farmer’s market hours for a cup of draft beer and then visit the vendors on the parking lot outside.
