What is the difference between an ordinary construction company and an incredible one?
According to owners Tony Cutrona and Dave Knoll, the difference is in their goal of 100 percent customer satisfaction on every job and the professional and honest culture of their company.
Tony and Dave each worked in the construction industry for many years before teaming up to open Incredible Builders, Inc. Additionally, Dave earned his bachelor’s degree in construction management from Ferris State University, while Tony holds his certification in construction management from Northern Illinois University. The pair worked together for 8 years at a nationally known construction company, building thousands of homes, before teaming up in 2008 to open their own business.
They first operated the company out of Dave’s house in Hampshire, but when the business grew too large to share the family home, they chose to relocate to downtown Hampshire and purchased the former Wolff Fitness Center building.
“The Wolff building was the optimal shell for us. It gave us a really nice place to make our own,” Tony said.
Incredible Builders, Inc. is a design/build general contracting firm that works well with residential and commercial customers.
“We help residential owners with kitchen and bathroom remodels and room additions. We are also here for our business owners with commercial buildouts, renovations and façade work,” Dave said.
Incredible Builders, Inc. was instrumental in some of the Village’s recent Façade Improvement Grant projects including Roy’s Place, and they also worked on the Red Barn-Hampshire Vet Clinic and their own building on Park Street, to name a few examples in town.
As general contractors, Incredible Builders, Inc. will work with a client from start to finish on all aspects of the design and buildout, including subcontracting the licensed trades like electricians, roofers, and plumbers. They secure all permits and inspections to ensure your project runs smoothly. The company employs 8 full-time carpenters, 3 superintendents, a design consultant and 2 office staff to meet the needs of any sized project.
Dave and Tony say they are valued by customers as much for their honesty and professionalism as they are for their quality work.
From local projects, like building 2 guard houses in just one day for a retirement community to use as a screening facility for Covid-19; or constructing many shelters in Kane County Forest Preserves; to unique projects like a glass atrium for an indoor playground at the Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind, Incredible Builders, Inc. is able to meet the needs of diverse clients.
The company also boasts a great working relationship with the Village of Hampshire.
“One of the reasons we stayed in Hampshire is because we knew the Village would work well with us,” Dave said.
Tony and Dave pride themselves on being a family business.
“We have always been involved with our kids’ hockey, soccer, baseball teams; with coaching and going to the games. We encourage our employees to put their families first, too,” Dave said.
