Moffett Physical Therapy EntranceWhether you are recovering from surgery, dealing with chronic back and neck pain, suffering from a sports injury or are a weekend warrior who has overdone it, the physical therapy team at Moffett Physical Therapy in Hampshire has the tools and techniques to get you back in action.

Opened in 2005, Moffett Physical Therapy in Hampshire is one of 3 centers owned by Cheryl and James Moffett.  Cheryl is a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy with a specialization in hands-on manipulation.  James handles the business end of managing the three offices in Hampshire, Huntley and Lake in the Hills.  Dr. Andrew Miskell is the therapist in residence at the Hampshire facility and he shares Cheryl’s philosophy for a hands-on approach to physical therapy.

The Moffetts believe the best thing about working in Hampshire is the people they serve.

“Hampshire residents take care of Hampshire businesses.  They make sure to support local businesses and are very loyal and generous,” James said.

As a family-owned practice, the Moffetts believe in working with each patient individually, case by case.  And because the State of Illinois allows for direct access, you don’t need a physician referral to see the physical therapists at Moffett.

“Our physical therapists will talk with the patient about their goals and come up with a plan for treatment.  You are not a number here.  We take care of you and offer more personalized treatment plan,” Cheryl said.

The Moffetts see their practice as a triage center of sorts.  Where a surgeon will recommend surgery for results and a physician will recommend medication for relief of symptoms, the physical therapist can assess the joints and muscles and provide exercises and therapies to help patients heal.  They also refer out to surgeons and medical doctors when the case calls for it.

“Orthopedic therapy is our niche.  We continuously assess a patient’s condition.  We will treat a patient or refer out when necessary.  We are another advocate you can trust,” Cheryl said.

James and Cheryl said they have had a great experience working with the village and have been pleased with village services in Hampshire.

“The Hampshire village board has been easy to work with. I feel like if we ever had a problem, no doubt, it would get rectified,” James said.
